Does this sound familiar?
You're convinced that having a website is an asset for your retail or E-Commerce business.
In fact, you've already either DIY'ed your own website, or hired someone else to set it up. But there's only one problem. No one is finding you online, and the results aren't any different than how things were, before your website went live.
And then you thought to yourself: "I know, I'll set up a blog!"
Unfortunately, no matter how many articles you read, you still have no idea how to write a relevant blog post, set up your first blog, and get actual people to read your blog.
But how to pull that off, and make Google happy...well that's kind of a mystery to you!

So how does it work?
The "get to know you" stage
When we first start working together, I'll send you a "goals & values PDF", a series of six questions that will help you find the words to describe who you want to reach & what your goals are.
As soon as you have a spare moment, write down your answers on a piece of paper, along with any questions you might have. Then, using the link that I'll send to you via email book an intro call to discuss your answers. A tip about getting the best possible results out of working with me: any existing marketing materials you can send me, will help me get to know your brand a little bit better, while helping me figure out the tone and style that your brand uses to communicate. Audience outreach strategy
Once you've approved the final draft, it's time to book a content engagement strategy call.
I totally get that you're a busy person, which is why each call is an hour long. Think of this call as a social media audit. I'll want to know exactly what social media accounts you have access to. And... based on what I learned about your audience, we'll talk about how we can use the accounts you're already part of to make sure that your blog post actually gets shared, read, and seen on popular search engines & social media networks. As someone who purchased the blogging deluxe edition, you'll get one complimentary session per blog post, and additional sessions can be purchased for $100 Canadian per hour. |
The first three drafts
On average, I write two to three drafts before I send a blog post to a client. Before I start writing, you'll also get access to my Trello board (so that you can take a look at a visual timeline of what to expect & when, whenever you want). When the third draft is complete you'll get a complimentary round of revisions to request any changes that you want. The Trello board will show you exactly when you'll get to take a look at the draft.
Till then, continue your weekly routine! And the good news is that the revisions are never grammar and spelling based, so once it's time for you to take a look at a draft it shouldn't take too long. I use proofreading apps, and ask people that I know to take a look at my work as well. And I'm also a trained editor, so I never send in a error-filled document. All I really need you to do is approve the look and the feel of the document. Keyword research, image design, and complimentary uploads
Once we've talked through how you're going to promote the content it's time to upload it, add shareable social media images, attention grabbing headlines, and conduct keyword research.
Then I'll upload content on your platform of choice, and all we've got to do is pre-schedule it! For this package, once that's done, return to step two of this process until blog post number eight is published and uploaded. |
Perfect if...You already have an existing website, are a retail or E-Commerce business that sells your products to consumers, and have no problem whatsoever describing who your existing customers are.
|
Not perfect if...You only have a vague sense of what you offer and who you want to serve, don't really have a long-term "where you want your business to be next week, next year, etc" strategy, and/or serve businesses rather than individual consumers.

Oh and a little bit about me...

Rosemary is a copywriter, editor, and content strategist for the web, based in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. However, she is also known for her love of travel, and will sometimes work far away from home. She works with a combination of E-Commerce and retail business owners, eager to use their products to improve the lives of their community. Her work has been featured on sites such as Buffer and Search Engine Journal, and she has worked with clients such as Yellowpages Canada and E-Bay. On an ongoing basis, she also produces content for her blog, Rosie Writing Space, and her podcast, People Behind the Business; both platforms are a source of guidance for independent business owners that need help with “putting themselves out there” without a large budget to work with.
